iSchool Showcase
The iSchool Showcase is an annual event where we celebrate the academic milestones of our iSchool students, e.g., Capstones, research, and other learning that goes beyond courses. The night will begin with a welcome address by the Associate Dean for Academics, followed by four highlight sessions lasting 30 minutes each. The night will close with remarks by the Associate Dean for Academics and an announcement of award winners. Please note that photos/video will be taken at the event for marketing and documentary purposes. Attendees will be able to opt out.
Event Timeline
- Setup (5:30 to 5:45 p.m. PDT). In-person presenters bring posters, and staff set up welcome tables.
- Welcome Address (5:45 to 6:15 p.m.). The Associate Dean for Academics welcomes the audience, introduces an invited short keynote speaker from the community, and attendees get food and mingle in the HUB Ballroom.
- Highlight Session 1 (6:15-6:45 p.m. PDT). Students presenting during the first session present, while those presenting during the other sessions are free to visit the other tables / Zoom stations.
- Highlight Session 2 (6:45-7:15 p.m. PDT). Students presenting during the second session present, while those presenting during the other sessions are free to visit the other tables / Zoom stations. Prior posters are still available via QR code.
- Highlight Session 3 (7:15-7:45 p.m. PDT). Students presenting during the third session present, while those presenting during the other sessions are free to visit the other tables / Zoom stations. Prior posters are still available via QR code.
- Closing Remarks (7:45-8:15 p.m. PDT). The Associate Dean for Academics closes the event, announcing awards.
Awards
All presenting students, whether networking or posters, are eligible for awards. Attendees determine the awards, submitting a short form. Awards are tallied in real-time and announced at the end of the evening by the Associate Dean for Academics. There is no limit on the number of recognized projects.
